Offgrid NYC — PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 26 July 2026
Effective date: 26 July 2026

This policy explains what data the Offgrid NYC app (the “App”) handles. The App is operated by Cinema SB LLC (“we,” “us”).

1. What stays on your device

The App stores the following only locally, on your device:

  • the spots you like, save, or skip, and your viewing history;

  • your trips, guides, collections, and travel dates;

  • your settings (language, appearance, safety-notice acknowledgement);

  • cached images and video data, so the App loads fast and works with a weak connection.

None of this is uploaded to an account — there are no accounts. “Delete all data” in the App wipes this local data, including caches.

2. What our servers receive

Our backend (hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure) receives:

  • Catalogue requests — when the App fetches or refreshes the list of spots and guides. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address and standard technical metadata to the server; we use it only to serve the request.

  • Like/save interactions — when you like or unlike a spot, the App batches these events and sends them with a random per-install identifier (see Section 3). This powers aggregate statistics such as “most-liked spots.” No name, email, or precise location is attached.

  • Suggestions and feedback — if you submit a spot suggestion or contact us through the App, we receive the text you typed (and your email address if you email us).

That is the complete list. The App sends nothing else to us.

3. The anonymous install identifier

The App generates one random identifier (a UUID) per installation and stores it in the device Keychain. It is attached only to like/save interactions so our aggregate statistics can distinguish “one person liked this 50 times” from “50 people liked this once.”

It is random: it is not derived from and cannot be linked to your name, email, phone number, Apple ID, advertising identifier, or any other identity. We do not use it to track you across apps or websites.

4. Location

If you grant location permission, your position is used on your device to sort spots by distance, show the blue dot on the map, and guide walking routes. If you decline, the App simply assumes a central Manhattan viewpoint.

Your precise location is never transmitted to our servers. It is not attached to likes, suggestions, or any other request. Map tiles and walking directions are provided by Apple Maps directly from your device (see Section 6).

5. Analytics

The App currently sends no analytics anywhere. Internal event hooks exist in the code, but they are connected to nothing — events are discarded on the device.

If we ever connect an analytics service, it will be anonymous and aggregate, and we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label first.

6. Service providers the App talks to

To function, the App loads content from these providers, which — like any internet service — see your IP address and the content requested:

  • Apple Maps (Apple Inc.) — map display and walking directions, requested by your device under Apple's privacy terms;

  • Bunny.net (BunnyWay d.o.o.) — the content-delivery network that streams our videos and thumbnails;

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts our spot-catalogue backend.

These providers act as infrastructure; we do not share your identity with them (we don't have it).

7. Booking links & affiliate partners

Tapping a booking button (flights, hotels, tours, tickets) opens the partner's website — for example Booking.com or GetYourGuide — in an in-app browser. From that moment, the partner's own privacy policy and terms apply.

To pre-fill your search, travel dates you have set in the App may be included in the link. No other personal data is passed. Some links are affiliate links: we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you; this does not change what data is collected.

8. No tracking, no ads, no sale of data

The App contains no advertising SDKs, no social-media SDKs, and no cross-app tracking, and does not use the IDFA. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising. The App's privacy manifest declares no tracking.

9. Children

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Data retention & deletion

Local data lives on your device until you delete it (via “Delete all data” in the App, or by deleting the App). Interaction data on our servers is anonymous and kept in aggregate form; because it is not linked to you, we cannot look up or extract “your” records from it.

If you contacted us by email, we keep that correspondence as long as needed to handle your request; you can ask us to delete it.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Because the App holds no account and no identity, most of these rights are best exercised via your device: the local data is yours to delete at any time.

For anything else — or to complain — contact us using Section 13. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change what data the App handles, we will update this policy and its “Last updated” date first, and give more prominent notice for material changes.
